Akron Children's anesthesiologists provide anesthesia and pain management services to tens of thousands of young patients each year. Studies show that anesthesia is safer for children — particularly very young children — when administered by a pediatric anesthesiologist. Our goal is to help a child go to sleep with as little anesthesia as possible.

About Anesthesiology
When it comes to anesthesiology, we understand the major differences in children’s body structures and functions, particularly infants. We also have a better understanding of the needs of each child and parent.
Our team of pediatric anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists are specially trained to block and control pain in children of all ages before, during and after surgeries, procedures and tests. We use equipment and techniques tailored to your child’s size to support a successful surgical outcome.
We also provide anesthesia services throughout Akron Children's, including in radiology, in the intensive care units and on patient care units.
