We have pediatricians who specialize in managing the care of infants, children and teens who are in the hospital. They're able to quickly respond to changes in your child’s condition and modify treatment plans. This helps prevent complications and reduces costs.

About Hospital Medicine

In addition to managing the care of patients who have been admitted to our Akron or Beeghly campus hospitals, we collaborate with a few adult hospitals to manage their pediatric inpatient units.

While your child is in the hospital, we will see them each morning and as often as needed during the day. Your child’s nurse may contact one of us 24/7 to address concerns you may have. We try to have the same hospitalist manage your child’s care whenever possible.

We're also familiar with hospital services and can assist you in using these resources. Once your child is ready to go home, we will arrange your child's discharge.

We may also want to see your child after she goes home. Once all concerns are resolved, your child will return to the care of your primary doctor.
