Meet Tina Smith, MD
Dr. Smith joined Akron Children’s Pediatrics in 2023. Prior to that she was a pediatrician and the medical director of Tri-State Specialists Pediatrics. She earned her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University, Rootstown, Ohio, and complete her pediatric residency at MSU/Sparrow in Lansing, Mich. She is certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Smith was an amazing doctor. This was my first time seeing her with my daughter, and she absolutely did great with my daughter. She took all of my questions seriously, and she's very educational and assesses her patients very well. This was our first time with her, and honestly, we would go back to her any time. Thank you so much, Dr. Smith.
I waited an hour for the doctor to come in. I feel like for a schedule appointment. We were almost 2hours total. I think this needs looked into bc that is the second time on a schedule check up that we have waited over an hour from the time nurse saw us to doctor coming in. Everything else was good.
Dr. Smith went above and beyond to answer all of our questions and concerns at our newborns first appointment! I felt very confident when leaving the office and would recommend her to others.
Dr. Smith was very thorough, kind and helpful. I was relieved that she took my daughter's illness seriously, and we were able to get in the same day we called. She took her time and made sure I understood the plan to get my daughter well. The front desk staff, nurses etc were all very kind and helpful as well. Just a thought... I did have trouble getting a real person to answer in the Marietta office. I called several times and it went to prerecorded lines. I think it was maybe a malfunction on that day that kept looping me back over and over. I was able to call the Akron number and they made the appointment for me. The phone staff in Akron and the front desk staff in Marietta were super kind and helpful when I mentioned this to them. I think it may be a glitch in the phone system that needs checked.
The wait time in the exam room was ridiculous. The clinical staff did not manage wait time expectations and after 35 minutes I inquired if the provider would be in the exam room soon and was advised I could reschedule if I wanted. Unacceptable. Dr Smith is wonderful!
Dr. Smith is absolutely incredible. She is so good with my kids, cares about them, and interacts with them so well. She's the absolute best in the area!
The staff are friendly, doctors are wonderful. Very clean facility
A little upset about the HPV vaccine it wasn't explained to my husband. I did not want my son to have this. I was not able to come To the appointment Also they waited for an hour or more for this appointment.
We love Dr Smith! So many pediatric providers say they treat their patients like their own kids but I really feel that Dr Smith proves this each time we see her. I have complete confidence in her with both of my children's care.
Dr Smith is thorough, responsible and friendly. We feel comfortable when communicating with her.
