Meet Shankar Srinivas Ganapathy, MD
Dr. Ganapathy is a pediatric radiologist and division director of MRI – Neuro-radiology at Akron Children’s. He’s been practicing since 2004 and with Akron Children’s since 2008. After graduating from medical school at Stanley Medical College in Chennai, India, he completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Stanley Medical College and Barnard Institute of Radiology, Madras Medical College in India. He went on to complete a neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, a pediatric radiology and pediatric neuro-radiology fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center, Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and an onco-radiology and cross sectional imaging fellowship at Dana Farber Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Dr. Ganapathy has a special research interest in advanced imaging techniques in neuro-oncology and subdural hemorrhages of varying ages in infancy. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology in pediatric radiology and diagnostic radiology. He is a member of the Radiologic Society of North America, the Society of Pediatric Radiology and the American Society of Neuro-radiology. Additionally, he has contributed to numerous publications, presentations and research projects and is a clinical assistant professor of radiology at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
