Meet Robert Abood, MD, FAAP
Dr. Abood is medical director of the clinical exercise physiology lab and a pediatric pulmonologist at Akron Children’s. He’s been practicing since 2018. He earned his medical degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa. and completed a residency in pediatrics at Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana University School of Medicine. He went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pa. Dr. Abood has a special interest in cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, high-risk asthma, pulmonary function testing and cardiopulmonary exercise testing. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics and pediatric pulmonology. He’s a member of the American Thoracic Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Abood is also a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics at Northeast Ohio Medical University.

I think Dr. Abood has great bedside manners and listens to how my daughter and I feel about her condition.

He's always so patient, so kind, so informative, and we absolutely appreciate him so much. He gives me peace of mind at every visit. Dr. Abood explained everything in a way we completely understood. He was genuine and I could tell he truly cared about us and our little one. He is one of the only doctors that took the time to explain and left us feeling confident in our plans ahead. Great bedside manner and really cares.

Dr. Abood was so kind and listened carefully to all my questions and concerns. He was very thorough with his explanations and reasoning for everything. He laid out a clear game plan to help us figure out what is wrong and even explained what his plans are if none of these options give us an answer. I left the appointment feeling at ease and confident with the plan of care for my son. I wish all doctors and doctor visits were like that!
