She made my (age)-year-old son feel as comfortable with talking to her as someone he's known for awhile instead of someone he just met for the first time. She showed genuine care and concern and listened compassionately to our concerns. We left our visit feeling like we had a better understanding of his condition and how to better treat his symptoms. The person that took us to our room and took his vitals was very professional and nice and patient ... Meet our nurse practitioner's name is Melissa I could be wrong but she was very attentive she listened to everything I had to say she didn't interrupt me she didn't act like she was dismissing me to explain things to me that I didn't understand and I asked what they meant and made sure that I really understood what was going on.

Very nice person she took time to explain everything in detail.

The nurse practitioner we saw was very thorough. She ordered many tests to really get to the root issue instead of just saying, oh, let's wait and see. So I was really happy with that, that she took it serious about my son's abdominal pain and that she ordered many tests to be done to figure out why he's having it. And she was very personable, had great bedside manner, and I will definitely be back to see her. Thank you.

Melissa Lukes CNP was amazing. She listened to my daughter and didn't blame her belly ache on anxiety like the last CNP a few years ago. We are just waiting for testing to be done and hope to get answers

The provider that I saw was extremely thorough. She made sure, I mean, like she was amazing. She was probably one of, if not the best provider I've seen there. Just extremely thorough, very knowledgeable. I felt confident in everything that she was telling me. She explained everything to me without making me feel like dumb. She was amazing. She was amazing with my son. Even when I left, I had my two kids with me and they were saying how nice she was. And I just think everybody there is very kind. And I just truly appreciated her. And I would definitely recommend Akron Children's Hospital to everybody. She was just great, and I'm very thankful for her.

She was very knowledgeable. She took her time to speak with my son and tried to understand how he was feeling. She asked him to tell her what his recommendation would be if she was to give him more meds. She wanted to know if he thought it would help him. She came up with a plan that we were all happy with!
