Meet Jyoti Krishna, MD, FAAP, FAASM

Dr. Krishna is the director of Pediatric Sleep Medicine at Akron Children’s. He’s been practicing sleep medicine since 2002 and with Akron Children’s since 2014. He went to medical school at Maulana Azad Medical College, University of Delhi in India. He went on to complete a pediatric residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and a sleep medicine fellowship at the University of Louisville and Kosair Children’s Hospital. Dr. Krishna has a special interest in a full spectrum of sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, excessive sleepiness (i.e., narcolepsy), insomnia, parasomnias (i.e., sleep-walking and sleep terrors), limb movement disorders in sleep (ie., restless legs), circadian rhythm disorders (i.e., delayed sleep phase). He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Sleep Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and is a member of the Ohio Sleep Society. He has published a book, several book chapters and many original research articles, as well as given numerous presentations, lectures and media appearances. He has extensive experience in academia, including serving as an associate professor of pediatrics at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
