Meet John Wigal, II, DO

Dr. Wigal is a pediatrician and sports medicine physician at Akron Children’s. He’s been practicing since 2020. He earned his medical degree from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. He went on to complete a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in sports medicine at Akron Children’s. Dr. Wigal is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He’s a member of the American Medical Society For Sports Medicine, American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Osteopathic Association. Additionally, Dr. Wigal is a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics at Northeast Ohio Medical University. He has a special interest in working with athletes ages 12 and younger, as well as those who play baseball, soccer and football.
