Meet John Lane, MD, FACC
Dr. Lane is the director of pediatric and adult congenital cardiology and the clinical director of the Akron Children’s Heart Center. He’s been in practice since 1999 and with Akron Children’s since 2001. After graduating from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, he completed residencies in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and in pediatrics at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He also completed a fellowship in cardiology and pediatric cardiology at University Hospitals. Dr. Lane has a special interest in pediatric cardiology, congenital heart disease in adolescents and adults, cardiac catheterization, interventional catheterization and transesophageal echocardiography. He’s board certified in internal medicine, pediatrics, pediatric cardiology, adult cardiology and adult congenital heart disease. He’s a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and member of the Adult Congenital Heart Association and the International Society of Adult Congenital Heart Disease. Additionally, he’s a researcher, presenter and author of topics related to the heart and serves as a consultant to the professional staff at the Heart and Vascular Institute at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

The staff is so helpful. My husband couldn't attend her follow up visit so I was juggling her stroller and bags, also while needing to get her changed after she peed twice on the table. The nurse helped me clean up, gave me bags for her wet clothes and offered to push the stroller for me to the next room so I could focus on safely carrying my baby. Dr.Lane was very helpful and helped us understand everything we were seeking treatment for. Our baby is healthy, happy and growing as she should! He complimented us as parents and our daughter as a baby. In our initial visit as new parents the reason for our visit can be scary and overwhelming. He assured us that she is a normal, healthy baby and we should continue to treat her as such because her condition was common and totally normal. He drew us a physical picture of what her heart looked like to make sure we understood what he was looking at in her sonogram images. By our second visit, everything from the first was still valid and our baby continues to be perfect! Thank you Dr.Lane!
