They are the best. Thank you very much!
The doctors and nurses and the Hematology Clinic are amazing. Dr. Hord has our trust and that means a lot.
We were referred by our primary care physician due to abnormal blood test. When we arrived, we were told that the blood work was not abnormal, even though it was out of the normal range. We informed him that our concerns started because my daughter is easily fatigued and can't breathe when running. She has asthma, and issues an inhaler, but this was far worse than anything she has experienced. The doctor stated that my daughter's iron level was good the previous two blood draws so there was no way she was anemic. However, I informed him that she was on an iron supplement for both of those blood draws and I wanted to get a baseline reading to verify that. He initially was not going to do any blood work, but agreed when I requested it. I later received a message from him on my chart stating that her blood test came back normal. An hour later, when the blood test showed up on her my chart, I noticed that they didn't even test her iron level and several results were still abnormal. When I asked why the iron wasn't tested specifically, he once again stated that it was normal on the previous two blood tests and if I was trying to target a certain iron level for athletic performance, I should speak to her primary care physician. To imply that I am only concerned about my daughter's athletic performance was beyond inappropriate. I ONCE AGAIN told him that she was on a supplement at the time of the previous two tests and I wanted to verify it was normal WITHOUT the iron supplement so we could rule it out. He then ordered a ferritin blood test to check the iron stores and not the iron level itself. I am beyond frustrated that I had to take a day off of work and drive over an hour to accomplish nothing and receive no answers in addition to the bill I will get eventually. My daughter is also frustrated to have had to miss school and have blood drawn only to have to go get blood drawn again.
The Doctor listened to all my concerns and as soon as I told him there was now an issue with getting my daughter's medicine he had it fixed in 10 minutes and I went to the pharmacy in the hospital and was able to get it .
Doctor Hord took the time to listen and reviewed the information. He was very down to earth and explained different things.
Dr. Hord is incredible and we are blessed to have him.
The doctor was amazing! I am so glad that the doctor did not rush since he was a little behind schedule. He spent plenty of time with us to explain every part of our son's bloodwork. He advised what we should do for the best course of action our child. :)
We are so thankful that Dr Hord is our son's hematologist. He goes above and beyond to make sure that our son gets the comprehensive care that he needs.
This team on floor 5 in the clinic gives me such a special experience each time I have treatment. They all work with such grace and a smile on their face and even got me a cake for my birthday. I don't feel like just a patient but a member of a small family when I am treated here.
The office was excellent. I was thrilled with the time he spent and how much he explained to us. We did not wait long and we never felt rushed. He offered to have his office call our insurance to make sure the labs were covered because the prior labs we had that were abnormal from another provider were denied and I have to get fixed. They called my insurance the next morning (our appointment was late afternoon). I was thrilled to get a reply so quickly. What a well organized office and personable physician.
