Meet James Nard, MD

Dr. Nard is a pediatric hospitalist, sedationist and director of hospital medicine at Akron Children’s. He's the 2024 recipient of the national Pediatric Academic Association PHM Award for Excellence in Clinical Care. He’s been practicing since 1988 and with Akron Children’s since 2005. He earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia, Pa. and completed a residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pa. Dr. Nard is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics with a subspecialty certification in pediatric hospital medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has published work in numerous articles and research studies. Dr. Nard is also a professor of pediatrics at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
