Meet Douglas Potoka, MD
Dr. Potoka has been practicing since 2005 and with Akron Children’s since 2020. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, he completed a residency at University Health Center of Pittsburgh and a pediatric surgery fellowship at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Potoka has a special interest in general and thoracic pediatric surgery and also provides services for trauma and neonatal surgery. He’s certified by the American Board of Surgery in general and pediatric surgery, and is a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Surgeons. He’s also contributed to numerous publications and presentations on topics related to surgery, and been an academic speaker and lecturer at national and regional meetings and universities.
