Meet David Karas, MD, FAAP
Dr. Karas is a pediatrician at Akron Children’s Pediatrics and is medical director of Ambulatory Quality and Clinical Outcomes Improvement at Akron Children’s. He’s been practicing since 2003. He graduated from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, Oh. and completed a pediatric residency at Akron Children’s. Dr. Karas has a special interest in quality improvement and informatics. He’s certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Additionally, he’s earned several awards for his work in academia and is a clinical associate professor of pediatrics at Northeast Ohio Medical University. In 2022, Dr. Karas was named Community Pediatrician of the year by the Ohio AAP.

He was great!
He was very thorough in his assessment and he has excellent bedside manners, especially for a pediatrician.
Pediatrics is awesome. Anytime that I really needed them, I called them. They have always got me in, gave me the answers I needed, whatever it was. They are one excellent, excellent, excellent place to take your children.
Wonderful Everytime
The entire staff at this facility was respectful, nice, and very helpful. Treated my daughter with respect and me as well. Definitely would refer this patient, or this doctor and facility to friends and family.

Dr Karas is wonderful! He's always kind and clearly knows children's health well. Even as a nurse (of adults, not children) I often learn something from him.
Provider is fantastic. I left feeling confident in the diagnosis and feeling that (Patient) is NOT her diagnosis. The doctor made me feel that medicine will help her right away and it is a common diagnosis and kids are all different and (Patient) happens to have this diagnosis. I felt confident in myself after leaving. Thank you for not making me or (Patient) feel abnormal!
