Akron Children’s Hospital welcomes pediatric hematologist-oncologist Dr. Nicole Kendel

Nicole Kendel, MD has joined Akron Children’s Showers Family Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders Center as a pediatric hematologist-oncologist.
Dr. Kendel completed her residency and fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She earned her doctor of medicine and master of medical sciences degrees from Ohio State University.
In addition, Dr. Kendel has completed advanced competency in research and advanced competency in medical education at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
She lives in Massillon with her husband, Dave, her two daughters, Lucy and Eleanor, her dog, Darla, and cat, Lilo Ravioli.
The Showers Family Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders team treats a variety of pediatric cancers and offers a broad range of expertise in cancer and bleeding disorders. The team actively participates in national clinical trials for childhood cancer and blood disorders and explores the causes and treatment of these diseases through our basic science research program.
