The Respiratory Film Array Panel is run routinely in the MV Laboratory from 8am to 9pm, Monday – Friday, and 8am to 2pm on Weekends. STAT testing is available 24/7, according to the availability of the instruments and staff. If patient management decisions require ASAP testing, contact the MV laboratory at ext.69623 to inquire about time expectations for a given panel to be reported. Weekend staffing varies according to the season. In general, an RP will be reported out the same day if the specimen arrives in the MV laboratory by noon. Panel Includes:
Targets include the following: Adenovirus, Bordetella parapertussis, Bordetella pertussis, Chlamydia pneumoniae, Coronavirus 229E, Coronavirus HKU1, Coronavirus NL63, Coronavirus OC43, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), Human metapneumovirus, Human Rhinovirus/Enterovirus, Influenza A and B, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Parainfluenza Viruses 1,2,3 and 4, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). Coronavirus strains 229E, HKU1, NL63, and OC43 normally occur in the U.S.
