Quantifying plasma HIV1 RNA levels (viral load) in individuals living with HIV1 infection. Monitoring HIV1 disease progression before or during antiretroviral drug therapy. Lab centrifuge blood and pour off plasma aliquot within 2 hours. Freeze aliquoted plasma immediately.
