Psychiatry and Psychology
Kelsey Brocker, PsyD, has joined Akron Children’s Mahoning Valley as a pediatric psychologist.
Dr. Brocker will see patients in Akron Children’s Healthy Active Living Program, which brings together a multidisciplinary team to care for children and teens diagnosed with childhood obesity and related health issues. Dr. Brocker will also serve the clinical needs of patients and families in the greater Youngstown area.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Auburn University in Auburn, Ala., Dr. Brocker earned her master’s degree in clinical health psychology from Mercer University in Atlanta. She completed her doctoral studies in clinical medical psychology at Mercer University, and then went to the Community Counseling Center of Mercer County in Hermitage, Pa., for her post-doctoral residency and internship.
Pediatric psychiatrist Selena Magalotti, MD, has joined Akron Children’s behavioral health division. Prior to that, she was a staff psychiatrist at Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare.
Dr. Magalotti earned her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio. She completed a general adult psychiatry residency at the University of Toledo and fellowships in forensic psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University. She’s board-certified in psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Sleep Medicine
Swaroop Pinto, MD, a pediatric sleep medicine physician, has joined Akron Children’s. She sees patients on our hospital campuses in Akron and Boardman and has been named Mahoning Valley sleep director.
Dr. Pinto earned her medical degree at Sri Siddartha Medical College in Tumkur, India, followed by residencies in India and the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin. She completed a pediatric pulmonology fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and a sleep medicine fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She is board-certified in pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine.
