What is it?
Quick Care Online is a convenient and safe way to connect with an Akron Children’s provider through a virtual (video) visit.
What are the benefits of Quick Care Online?
Quick Care Online saves you from having to drive somewhere for care, so it’s great for families who have transportation issues or don’t live near an Akron Children’s facility. You don’t have to coordinate missing school or work to go to the doctor’s office – just have the virtual visit on the go or from your home.
What illnesses are right for Quick Care Online?
Quick Care is ideal if your child has a cold, cough, diarrhea, fever, flu, sinus trouble, sore throat or upset stomach. Minor allergies, insect bites, pink eye and rashes can also be treated. If your child is having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest ER.
Who can use Quick Care Online?
Anyone in Ohio from ages 6 months to 21 years old can use it. You don’t have to be a current Akron Children’s patient. If the patient is under 18, their parent or guardian will need to be present for the virtual visit.
What are the hours?
Quick Care Online is available 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 7 a.m.-9 p.m.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Just log on through the free Akron Children’s Anywhere app or on our website.
What equipment do I need?
You’ll need an internet-enabled smartphone, tablet or computer with a webcam and speakerphone.
How long does Quick Care Online take?
You’ll request a visit and then be placed in a virtual waiting room. It usually takes less than 30 minutes for the next available provider to answer.
Can I get a prescription for my child through Quick Care Online?
Yes, the provider will prescribe medication if necessary.
Does Quick Care Online replace my child’s primary care provider?
No, it’s important to schedule regular visits with your child’s primary care provider. Quick Care Online is an option when your child has a common illness.
Will my insurance be billed for a Quick Care Online visit?
Yes, we will bill for Quick Care Online like we would for an in-person visit. Most major insurance plans, including Medicaid, are accepted. A self-pay option by credit or debit card is also available.
