We understand our patient families are doing more and more from the palm of their hands — from ordering pizza to arranging rides to scheduling haircuts — and we want to meet that need in health care, too.
That’s why Akron Children’s has made many of the same trusted MyChart services you access by computer available on your smart phone or tablet. MyChart Mobile puts the tools in your hands to control your children’s health care anytime, anywhere.
The app, which is available for both Apple and Android devices, is free and provides fast and secure access to the most frequently used MyChart features from your handheld device, including:
- Messaging your doctor with non-urgent medical questions.
- Requesting medication renewals.
- Obtaining lab and test results.
- Reviewing your child’s health summary, including immunization schedules and allergy information.
- Scheduling appointments, and canceling or viewing past and upcoming appointments.*
- Paying your bill, requesting price estimates and financial assistance.
*Teen proxies will not show the detail of past appointments for privacy purposes.
Online scheduling made easier
Kids don’t operate 9 to 5, and their health care shouldn’t either. That’s why Akron Children’s offers families the ability to schedule appointments day or night through MyChart Mobile.
It’s quick and easy, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your convenience. You don’t have to wait for open office hours, and you won’t be put on hold.
Akron Children’s offers scheduling through the MyChart app for most specialty offices — from cardiology to dermatology to rheumatology and more — in addition to well checks, sick visits, flu shots, sports physicals and more at our pediatrics offices.
All from the palm of your hand, you also can conveniently schedule:
- MyChart virtual visits. This is a scheduled online appointment with your child’s primary or specialty care provider — often used for minor illnesses and injuries, follow-ups or ongoing care.
- E-visits. Available at all primary care locations, e-visits are kind of like a digital appointment. It’s an email exchange with your child’s primary care provider, not a real-time exam, and is great for minor issues like rash, cough or cold, red eye, and insect bites, pinworms and lice.
- Quick Care and Quick Care Online appointments. You can schedule in-person Quick Care appointments or an immediate Quick Care Online virtual visit with a pediatric provider for minor illnesses and injuries like allergies, colds, flu, diarrhea, sinus issues and sore throats.
- On My Way for Urgent Care. This tool allows you to pick your arrival time, so you can wait in the comfort of your own home instead of the Urgent Care office.
What’s more, MyChart Mobile offers additional scheduling tools to make it even easier to manage your children’s health.
You can cancel or confirm upcoming appointments, receive automatic appointment reminders and even “favorite” frequent appointments to speed up scheduling in the future.
You also can complete Pre-Check in up to 5 days prior to the appointment to save time at the office. You can update your child’s contact and insurance information, complete medical and family history forms, pay copays and more directly in the MyChart app. And later, you can review after-visit summaries and clinician notes.
