For the second year in a row, Akron Children’s has been named one of the top pediatric medical centers in the United States, according to data compiled by Statista Inc. for Newsweek’s America’s Best Children’s Hospitals 2024.
Akron Children’s ranked in the top 40 in five categories and improved its positions in Endocrinology, Neonatology and Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. Akron Children’s was also recognized in two new subspecialties, Orthopedics and Pulmonology & Thoracic Surgery.

The America’s Best Children’s Hospitals 2024 ranks 175 leading children’s hospitals in eight pediatric subspecialties: Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Surgery, Neonatology, Oncology and Hematology, Pulmonology and Thoracic Surgery, Neurology and Neurosurgery, and Orthopedics. Together with Statista, Newsweek conducts underlying data analysis based on four data sources, including a nationwide online survey, hospital quality metrics, results from patient experience surveys and patient reported outcome measures implementation surveys.
