Akron Children’s has been named one of the top pediatric medical centers in the world for the second year in a row, according to Newsweek’s World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2023 rankings.
Akron Children’s ranked 22nd among the best pediatric hospitals worldwide. There were 200 pediatric hospitals included in the rankings.
“It’s an honor to see Akron Children’s on this list of internationally known children’s health care providers,” said Chris Gessner, president and CEO. “It is a real tribute to our talented and dedicated staff and providers who work tirelessly every day to improve the health of children, teenagers, and young adults in Northeast Ohio and beyond.”
Newsweek compiled the rankings to help patients and their families know which hospitals have the most accomplished physicians and diagnosticians and advanced technology to offer the highest level of care.
Together with Statista, Newsweek looked at the best hospital facilities based on expertise in 11 different specialties.
In addition to the Newsweek ranking, Akron Children’s is ranked as a top hospital in pediatric neurology and neurosurgery and orthopedics in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals Rankings for 2022-2023.
