More and more patient families are turning to direct scheduling in MyChart to manage their family’s doctor appointments and simplify their busy schedules.
Akron Children’s offers scheduling through MyChart for most specialty offices, in addition to well visits, flu shots and sports physicals at its pediatrics offices.
It’s quick and easy, and it’s available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week online or through the MyChart app for your convenience, as opposed to waiting for open office hours.
To simplify the process even more, we’re upgrading the user experience. Look for more functionality and streamlined views in the coming months so you can now schedule your appointments even faster and more easily — and quickly check it off your busy to-do list.
Most notably, MyChart is customizing your view in direct scheduling to reduce clutter and confusion. You’ll now only see departments you’re already established with, eliminating from view departments with which you’re unable to schedule.
In addition, with a new multi-step format that is updated dynamically with tabs for each step, you can now easily adjust your selected provider, reason for visit, location and time slot at any time during the scheduling process without having to start over.
You also can now save favorite appointments to help speed up scheduling future appointments. When you save a scheduled appointment as a favorite, you’ll be able to quickly schedule it again with the same reason for visit, provider and location and skip those extra steps.
The option to save an appointment as a favorite appears on the direct scheduling confirmation page. When you log in for future scheduling, your favorite appointments will appear on the “Schedule an Appointment” homepage. Please note: You can only favorite appointments that were made through direct scheduling.
