We are less than a week away of meeting our little Peanut face to face. It’s crunch time! The room has been painted, furniture assembled, and laundry is ready to be washed. We met with a pediatrician last week, but feel we need to meet with another just to make sure of our comfort level. Our last appointment is scheduled with Dr. Stewart this week and the time and date has been marked in the books for next week.
I have had to tell myself to relax and know that God is in control with what happens next week with our family. We’ve had a lot of mixed messages as to what will happen once Peanut arrives. It personally makes me a little anxious about how much time we’ll actually spend with our little one before the transport to Akron Children’s. I also am concerned with the breastfeeding. I am praying that our separation won’t interfere with the process. I have a list of prayer requests for the first few days we are at Akron Children’s. We made one for my mom while she was in the hospital in 2009 and it made it a little easier to be specific in our prayers.
We have been keeping busy trying to get some leisure time in before Peanut arrives. Besides the baby showers, we have taken some walks in the park, attended a Tribe game with friends, had a photo shoot with a close friend, and spent some time with friends and family going out for ice cream. Randy raced in Millersburg a week ago, and was doing great until something broke on the front wheel causing him to run into the guard rail. I’m so thankful God was watching over him and he has been able to take some time to drive over to the shop to fix it.
Sasha has also had her world turned upside down before Peanut arrives. She was spayed last week along with having a cracked tooth removed. Randy and I were a wreck taking care of her the first night. It just goes to show how we will be bringing Peanut home.
