Objectives (Educational Content) :

1: Review how guidelines for resuscitative care are developed. 2: Describe the barriers to performing clinical research in the delivery room environment. 3: Discuss current efforts to increase research to provide evidence for guideline development.

Target Audience:

General pediatricians, family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, psychologists, and nurses.

Identified Gap:

Due to the nature of caring for critically ill babies in a neonatal intensive care setting, ongoing review and modification of resuscitation guidelines is needed to ensure that we are delivering the highest quality of care for these babies, in all hospital settings.
