Akron Children’s Rehabilitative Services offers a comprehensive hand therapy program. Our occupational therapists, including certified hand therapists, work with patients ranging from infants to adults.

About Hand Therapy
Our services include:
- Custom-made splints and casts, including splints with silicone.
- Serial casting to address joint contractures.
- Home exercise programs.
- Desensitization training.
- Scar management techniques.
- Non-pharmacological methods to help patients manage upper extremity pain.
- Joint protection and energy conservation treatment techniques.
- Evaluation and treatment of congenital and acquired hand and upper extremity anomalies.
- Evaluation and treatment of sports-related hand and upper extremity injuries.
- Therapy for patients with upper extremity repetitive use injuries.
